Once the incident managers have provided initial advice to help you deal with whatever situation you are in, they will talk you through your next steps, and depending on your subscription level, they can complete some of these tasks on your behalf.
If you need to call, our incident managers will calmly talk gap year travellers through the immediate safety or security priorities, answering questions and explaining how to act. Our incident manager will then carry out any supporting actions such telling you where the nearest hospital or police station is, alerting consular support from the embassy, informing your parents (if you want us to) and opening a case with your travel insurance. We can provide you with telephone based access to an interpreter and even making emergency payments for a hotel, taxi or coach, helping get you to a safe place after an emergency.
